Winter Storm Warning – State of Emergency Declared

A significant snowstorm is expected to impact Englewood Cliffs from Sunday through Monday.

Snowfall totals of 6 to 12 inches are forecast, with locally higher amounts possible. Travel conditions will be hazardous, particularly during the Monday morning commute.

Monday Closures and Garbage Collection Update

  • Borough Hall offices will be closed on Monday and will resume regular operations on Tuesday.
  • Englewood Cliffs Public Schools will be closed on Monday.
  • Garbage collection in the South Zone will be suspended on Monday and will resume on the regular Thursday schedule. Please do not place containers at the curb while collection is suspended.

Essential services, including the Department of Public Works, Police Department, Fire Department, and Office of Emergency Management, will remain fully staffed and operational throughout the storm.

Snow Emergency Reminders

  • All motor vehicles must be removed from Borough streets so DPW crews can safely and effectively clear snow. Vehicles left on roadways may be ticketed and towed.
  • Residents are strongly urged to limit travel unless absolutely necessary.
  • Check on elderly and vulnerable neighbors if it is safe to do so.
  • Please clear at least three feet around fire hydrants near your home.

Report power outages or downed wires directly to PSE&G at 1-800-436-7734 or by texting “OUT” to 4PSEG. Do not call the Police Department for non-emergency related issues.
