Park Rehabilitation Project

Veterans Park

Veterans Park, including the playground and the basketball courts, will close on Wednesday June 12, 2024, for renovation.  Veterans Park is expected to reopen no later than September 1, 2024.

Witte Field and Johnson Avenue Park

Witte Field and Johnson Avenue Park will close on or about July 1, 2024, except the children's playground on the north side of the park, which will remain open until August 31, 2024. The entire park, including the playground, will remain closed until March 2025.

This is all part of the multi-million-dollar/multi-park improvement project unanimously approved by the Mayor and Council of Englewood Cliffs.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO RESIDENTS
DETOUR NOTIFICATION:

 

Dear Customer,

This letter is to notify you that PSE&G will continue upgrading the electric system in your neighborhood to provide safe, reliable service. Construction crews have been actively working on the PSE&G and public rights of way in Englewood and Englewood Cliffs, as well as the surrounding communities. Please note: PSE&G does not expect this project to cause any service interruptions.

Please be advised that beginning Monday, June 24, 2024 work will take place on East Palisades Avenue between North Woodland Avenue and Summit Street. During work hours there will be a traffic detour for local, bus and truck traffic. This work will take place approximately 7-12 weeks contingent on weather and road conditions.

 

Car Detour Route: N. Woodland St à Pershing Rd à Summit St.

Bus/Truck Detour Route: N. Woodland St à Woodland à E. Clinton à Sylvan Ave/ 9W.

 

During this work, please abide by the no parking signs. As with any construction project, you may experience an increase in traffic, loud noise, and presence of heavy equipment and machinery.  For more information on this detour, please contact your local police department.
